Sonnet To The Oakland Raiders

I could blame all sorts of things for my narrowly missing the playoffs in my fantasy (American) football league. I could blame Marvin Harrison's 3 touchdown game last night. I could blame Steve McNair's injury that limited a normally steady QB to zero points. I could blame the Seahawks' inability to defend against the Forty-Niners at home, or my decision to put my trust in Seattle as opposed to Dallas or Denver. But the one thing that I consider most responsible for my defeat is the absolute futility of the Oakland Raiders, which gave the St. Louis defense an amazing score of 29 points for my opponent, who beat me with a score of 63-59. The Raiders don't really deserve the attention, but I wrote a sonnet about them anyway.
You might improve if you all went on strike
Scores make it seem like you're playing with scabs
The other team gets most balls up for grabs
You get run over like ants 'neath a bike
You are to skill what mimes are to a mic
Those who fear you are more yellow than cabs
You might as well field lobsters, squids and crabs
All of you ought to take a hut hut hike
As Randy grows Moss sitting on the side
And your starting running back does the same
The fans in the stands wonder why they came
Nobody can have that much home town pride
You have been even worse than this year's Knicks
At least you might have years of great draft picks
