Sonnet Based on a Requested Word: Outrageous

Back in March of 2006, I offered to write sonnets based on words suggested by members of another blogging community. You probably wouldn't have seen it there, especially since it's buried in the comments, so I'm submitting the first one here. I changed a couple of words fr the sake of accuracy.
Why does getting in good shape make you sore?
Why are there lots of reality shows?
Why do my allergies clog up my nose?
Why can't our government stay out of war?
What are the bombers really dying for?
Why do so many have no time to doze?
Why do so many pay so much for clothes?
Why did so many pick Bush over Gore?
How come college currently costs so much?
How can pro-lifers be "pro-right to shoot"?
Paris Hilton - why do we give a hoot?
Why were last year's Knicks so bad in the clutch?
Why are Tolstoy's books so many pages?
Why do so many things seem outrageous?
If you'd like to suggest a word for me to write a sonnet about, tell me and I'll try to write one.

I am not, and never have been, SL. The only SL that I've seen here (Political brief) writes posts that I tend to disagree with completely, but I find myself reading them anyway.

which could be used,
