Spitzer Sonnet

March 13th 2008 18:11
Sure you need something to decrease your stress
But I would be worried all of the time
In public office committing a crime
That could catch the eye of the IRS
An agency known for ruining success
Now I won't equate you to balls of slime
Although if you used the taxpayer's dime
For that you deserve to be in this mess

At least you stepped down so problems of yours
Will not cause long-term harm to New York State
Or the Democrats, because I would hate
For this to help McCain through White House doors

It's fine that the new governor is blind
The vision that counts is that of the mind

Sickness Sonnet

March 8th 2008 15:44
Harder to breathe like the Maroon 5 hit
Sleeping somewhat less but tired much more
Might not be flu since I'm not really sore
Head hurts but not like a cranial split
I want Sudafed, don't want to buy it
'Though I feel rotten like an apple core
I'd rather not give my cash to the store
For something that might not help me one bit

So I summon the will to leave my bed
And walk to wait for the R or V train
Where other riders will soon feel my pain
My coughing and sneezing will make germs spread

Now you might stay home when you're sick like this

But I don't get paid for time that I miss

This took place in the very recent past. I'm better now, but still a little congested.

Sonic Sonnet

November 5th 2007 20:03
Almost half a year away is much too long.

You're small, swift, spiky with a skylike hue
A creature quite rarely found on a farm
Much more connected with pain than with charm
Yet many games were inspired by you
Fingers helping you to do what you do
Constantly being in the way of harm
Fighting without even having one arm
Does such a life ever make you feel blue?

Does all that spinning ever make you sick
Do you ever feel half-blinded with dirt?
Does crashing hard into a springboard hurt?
Where do you keep coins? There must be a trick

Other enigmas will remain unknown
Because I cannot pass the marble zone

I'm still alive

There is a reason why you haven't read
Any new sonnets from this is of mine
In a number of days that's twelve time nine

Your fifteen seconds of fame was a waste
If you were famous, now you'd be disgraced

Sanitary Sonnet

January 22nd 2007 21:48
I've got a minor finger infection at the moment, and it isn't the most fun thing in the world to have, since I've been spending a couple of hours each of the past couple of days with my finger in a hydrogen peroxide solution. It hasn't gotten worse, but if it doesn't get better than I'll probably have to get it treated with something a bit more powerful despite my health care situation being poor even by USA standards. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but it probably got dirty somehow - hence the sanitary sonnet.

Hunny Sonnet

January 17th 2007 19:04
The bear living in the house that says "Sanders" doesn't write sonnets, does he? All evidence, such as there is, points to mister Pooh hardly ever writing at all. But if he did, would it look anything like this?

O scrumptious hunny way up in the tree

Scary Sonnet

January 13th 2007 22:44
I hereby waive responsibility for any and all panic-related complications suffered as a result of reading this sonnet, regardless of whether you have children named Jason or not. I tried to make a link here before to Bryn's Horror Movie Villains post at www.horrorphile.net, but I accidentally made this window close and had to rewrite the sonnet from memory. I'm not doing that again.

Michael Myers is nearby looking cruel

Running Sonnet

January 6th 2007 21:31
I went running today, and ran faster than I had in quite a while. The weather, being unseasonably warm but not oppressively so, was probably at least partially responsible. It also helped that I was against the wind earlier as opposed to later, so I was able to push through it when I wasn't tired and I let it push me forward when I was. Because of that run, I'm transplanting a running sonnet from my original blog here at Orble. Here it is:

Running a long route can tire you out
